I recently returned from visiting Curtain Bluff, an amazing, low-key, all-inclusive boutique resort located approximately 30 minutes southwest from the airport.  Although this property is 50 years old, it doesn’t show its age.  Curtain Bluff sits on a peninsula where all 72 rooms and suites are located on the surf beach, one of the hotel’s two beaches and offer amazing ocean views.  This hotel is perfect for honeymooners, couples, families and small groups who are looking for relaxation within an upscale island setting. I stayed in an ocean front junior suite with private balcony. Property includes room service and twice daily maid service.  The room was a good size with a step down living room, very comfortable king bed and a huge bathroom with separate tub, shower and water closet.   It’s important to note that none of the rooms have TVs but there is complimentary WIFI throughout the property. cb room

Curtain Bluff offers tennis on their four lighted championship hard courts.  They have three onsite pros.  Private lessons can be arranged(for an additional charge) and the resort offers tennis oriented events throughout the year.  In addition to the tennis facilities, they offer a nice-sized, fully equipped fitness center and offer water aerobics, yoga, Pilates, a half basketball court and squash court.  A water sports center is located on the swimming beach where guests can scuba, waterski, windsurf, snorkel, kayak, etc.  All activities are included in the room rate.

The 5,000 sq. ft. spa sits apart from the rest of the resort and offers the most amazing views of the Caribbean sea and the neighboring islands.  A full menu of treatments as well as their own signature treats is available.  Guests who book treatments can relax afterward on the spa’s verandah and enjoy the Jacuzzi with the amazing views.

We saw a few well-behaved children at the resort.  They offer a playground, computer center for kids and on specific dates, Curtain Bluff will run tennis clinics for children.  Babysitters are available for hire.

Curtain Bluff loves groups…a great choice for a destination wedding, corporate event buy-out, or family reunion.

Dining options, although not many, were delicious.  The food was fresh and the variety was a good mix of traditional island cuisine and American and European continental fare.  Long pants and collared shirts are required of men during dinner.  Special dietary requests are not a problem. IMG_5134 I was able to meet with the culinary manager to go over my food allergies and he was more than happy to accommodate my requests.  Entertainment is also more on the quiet side and basically consisted of a small band with singer playing outside of the main restaurant each evening where guests could dance under the stars.

If your guests are looking for multiple dining and entertainment options while on holiday, this property may not be the best fit.  For those who are looking to unplug, unwind and enjoy a beautiful setting with excellent service and a chilled out vibe, then Curtain Bluff is a great choice.

Feel free to contact me if you’d like more information or wish to make a reservation here or anywhere in the Caribbean.
