Paris in the Springtime

Cole Porter penned the famous phrase in 1953 and it has since been sung by dozens of crooners, from the likes of Ella Fitzgerald to Frank Sinatra. Paris in the springtime is undoubtedly a beautiful time of year. The fresh spring air, the gorgeous architecture and the beginning of the growing season for France’s well known lavender all await your arrival. In addition to these iconic elements, Paris ranks at the top of Foodie’s lists as the place to go for exceptional food and wine. Spring is just around the corner, so now’s the time to plan your escape to Paris. We think the following itinerary would be a perfect place to start! We love Paris in the Springtime!

On your first day in Paris, the Musée d’Orsay and the largest collection of Impressionist and post-Impressionist paintings are the ideal spot to visit to experience the wealth of culture in Paris. Once a famous train station, the d’Orsay has since been repurposed as one of the world’s finest museums. As an added bonus, the view of Paris from the top of the museum is unbeatable. After your visit to the museum is complete, a relaxing stroll along the River Seine will help you find the perfect cozy bistro along the Left Bank in which to enjoy a signature Parisian meal before unwinding for the evening.

Perhaps one of the most quintessential experiences you can have in Paris would be an authentic cheese and wine tasting coupled with a visit to all of the iconic French sites. On your second day in Paris why not start your day off with tours to all of the famous Parisian landmarks such as the Avenue des Champs-Elysées, the Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde and the Eiffel Tower to name a few. After a day packed full of sightseeing, it will be great to relax at La Bonne Franquette where you can enjoy a couple glasses of French wine and sample a plate of French cheeses; the ideal ending to another perfect day in paradise.

Foodies rejoice on the third day in Paris as this day is centered on visiting the marketplace to shop for the freshest ingredients available and then turning those finds into a gourmet 3 course meal under the guidance of a professional French chef. This meal is guaranteed to be one that you will not soon forget- and the experience of cooking alongside an esteemed chef is unparalleled. If you like great food and great wine, this day is tailored for you! After your meal has been made, a sommelier will discuss wine pairings with you and help you identify the intricacies in a glass of wine. No experience necessary, just an open mind and willingness to have some fun!
